This class is a slower and gentler version of our Basic Multi-Level class. Students will receive more extensive posture instruction with individual modification assistance and longer hold times accompanied by guided deep breathing and relaxation. This class is appropriate for beginners and for those who prefer a slower, more meditative class. All levels are appropriate; no prior experience is needed.
basic multi-level yoga
Good for all levels – beginner through
advanced – this class guides students through a basic series of yoga postures, synchronized with breath and inner exploration, and sprinkled with foundational yoga philosophy. Coaching on safe posture and awareness of “edge” encourages students to take their bodies/selves to wherever they belong in the moment.
restorative yoga
Need to unwind, de-stress, or just take a break? This class uses yoga techniques to calm stress and to teach simple practices for disarming the stress response when it arises in daily life. Guided breathing and relaxation in restorative yoga postures will relax students in the moment and provide tools for handling life’s challenges from a more calm and centered place. No prior yoga experience is needed.
intermediate yoga
This class takes it a little deeper - deeper stretches, more challenging postures and often more energetic flows. Intended for the more advanced practitioner, this class often includes yoga philosophy and meditation.
Now available: 30-minute home practice recordings!
These audio recordings will each be a different therapeutic focus, e.g., hips and low back, shoulders and neck, and I will keep them around 30 minutes to make your home practice more accessible. Also available are themed meditation readings. See the tools for home practice page to view and download these files.
bev's teaching style
I would describe my teaching style as very Phoenix Rising (introspective) with strong Iyengar (precision) and Vinyasa (flow) influences. I'd love to hear my students' opinions! It's always interesting to observe differences between an intention and how it is received. :-)

“Bev has the unique capacity to accommodate the inexperienced at the same time as challenging the more experienced in the same yoga class. Selecting a theme for each class, she combines mind, body, and spirit through her words, the flow of movement, and tailored readings. Her voice has a resonance which creates an extraordinary sense of serenity. The person who arrives at her class leaves a totally different centered, inwardly and outwardly quiet being.”
~ Molly
Private yoga classes are also available and are especially good for beginners, those with special conditions, couples, or those who would like to take their work deeper. Contact bev for further information or to schedule a session.
